Transmission is in
Well, I don’t have any pictures this time because my photojournalist (aka my wife) was not home. I did have my Dad come down and help though, as getting the trans in alone can be slow going. I installed an OEM replacement clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, pilot bearing, and main seal. All went well. So the transmission is in the car again, and I am ready to move on to the brakes, suspension and steering. Really, there isnt much left in the way of work on the car itself. The engine is in good shape, and I am fairly confident it will be reliable for the race. At some point, I will probably just pull up a chair and stare at the car. That sounds weird, I know, but I want to just sit there, and try to think of free things I can do to increase performance and reliability. How can I make the suspension perform better? How can I keep the engine cool? Stuff like that.
Funds are tight at the moment, but I am saving up for the rollcage. I need about $1500 for that, and it will be the single largest expensive of this entire venture. Donations welcome.
